About these terms
SpaceShrink is provided by Charles Vevea, reachable at charlesve@pm.me. These terms describe the app’s service and purchase rules. The software license for the App Store version is Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, linked below. These terms do not replace that agreement or limit rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Use of your library
You must have the rights and permission to access, process, and export the media you use with SpaceShrink. You control Photos permissions and the actions you request. The app helps compare media sizes, save smaller copies, and export files; it does not provide an online backup service or guaranteed recovery.
Compression and deletion
Compression can reduce image detail, resolution, or quality and may remove format-specific information such as RAW editing data, HDR enhancements, depth effects, albums, captions, or edit history. PNG copies preserve transparency. Supported copies preserve and verify the Photos capture date/time, location, hidden status, and favorite status. Recently Added still treats a copy as new. Live Photo conversion to a still requires a warning because motion and sound are lost; batch compression skips Live Photos. Review copies and keep independent backups of anything important before deleting originals. Deleting from iCloud Photos can delete the same original on other synced devices. Availability of recovery and storage savings depends on Apple’s services and sync state.
Ten free compressions
The app includes 10 free successful compressions on a device. One successfully saved and verified smaller photo or video counts as one compression, including each item in a batch. Failed attempts and reopening/reusing an existing verified batch copy do not use another free compression. The allowance is stored locally in Keychain and may remain after reinstalling. It is not an account-wide synchronized allowance. Older copies created before the allowance was introduced are not charged retroactively. Batches pause when the allowance runs out; remaining items and originals are kept.
Full-app purchase
A single non-consumable in-app purchase unlocks unlimited supported compression. It is not a subscription and does not renew automatically. The intended US price is $1.99; the App Store shows the actual local price, currency, and applicable taxes before confirmation. Apple handles payment. A verified purchase can be restored using the same Apple Account on supported devices. Ask to Buy, purchase restrictions, unavailable storefronts, connection problems, or pending payment can delay access. Refunded or revoked purchases no longer unlock compression. Scanning, exports, history, and reviewing or deleting originals remain available without purchasing. The unlock does not promise support for every media format or every future separate product.
Apple billing and refunds
Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests. To request a refund, sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, choose Request a refund, select the SpaceShrink purchase and submit your reason. Eligibility and processing time depend on Apple’s policies, your region and applicable law; approval is not guaranteed. Pending purchases may need to complete before a request is available. Contact Apple Support for requests that cannot be made there. A refunded or revoked full-app unlock no longer grants unlimited compression once Apple updates its status; saved media, exports, history and unused free compressions remain. Nothing here limits mandatory refund, warranty or other consumer rights. If a purchase is not recognized, use Restore purchases with the same Apple Account.
Downloads, exports, and background work
iCloud downloads are enabled by default for scans and exports; you can turn them off in Settings. Previews and compression download the selected full-size original as needed. iCloud downloads may use cellular data, battery, and temporary device storage. A completed share-screen handoff is not proof that a provider finished uploading; verify files at the destination before deleting originals. Apple controls background execution, permissions, and access to protected Photos data. Processing can pause when locked, under resource constraints, or after the app is closed. The app cannot work while the phone is powered off. File-size measurements describe accessible Photos resources and do not guarantee an exact reduction in phone or iCloud storage.
Availability and responsibilities
Features depend on compatible hardware, iOS, your permissions, available space, and third-party services. Use the app lawfully and do not interfere with its operation or bypass Apple’s purchase protections. To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability or a particular storage-saving result. Applicable consumer protections and the rights and limitations in Apple’s Standard License Agreement continue to apply. We do not exclude responsibility where the law prohibits doing so.
Privacy, support, and changes
The Privacy policy explains local processing, permissions, exports, purchases, and support correspondence. Contact charlesve@pm.me for help. These terms may be updated to reflect changes to the app or legal obligations; the revised terms will show an updated date. Changes do not take away mandatory rights or retroactively impose new charges on an existing purchase.
