Who operates SpaceShrink

SpaceShrink is provided by Charles Vevea. For privacy questions or requests, contact charlesve@pm.me. This policy covers the SpaceShrink iPhone app.

Photos and videos stay under your control

With your permission, SpaceShrink reads your photo library, including accessible hidden items, to display, measure, compress, and export the items you choose. It uses Apple’s Photos framework and may access filenames, media, capture dates, location metadata, favorite/hidden status, and resource information. Processing happens on your device. SpaceShrink does not send your library, thumbnails, filenames, or location metadata to Charles Vevea or a SpaceShrink server. There is no SpaceShrink account, advertising, analytics SDK, or tracking.

iCloud and export destinations

iCloud downloads are enabled by default for scanning and exports and can be disabled in Settings. Apple also downloads full-size media as needed when you preview or compress a selected item. Downloads can use cellular data. When you choose an export destination, files and their embedded metadata, which can include location, are shared with that destination through Apple’s Files or share interfaces. A selected drive provider or external drive then controls its copy. SpaceShrink does not receive or store your drive login credentials. Apple and drive providers handle their services under their own privacy policies.

Local records and the free allowance

SpaceShrink stores preferences, size caches, export/compression history, saved-copy receipts, and unfinished batch IDs on your device. These records can include filenames, Photos identifiers, dates, sizes, and resource signatures. A separate device-local Keychain record stores hashes of completed-copy identifiers to remember the 10-free-compression allowance; it contains no media or filenames and is not sent to us. This record may remain after reinstalling the app and is not synchronized to your other devices. App-container records may be included in backups according to your Apple device settings. Temporary working files are removed when operations finish or the app next launches, subject to interruptions.

Purchases

Apple processes the one-time full-app purchase, payment, and restoration. SpaceShrink uses StoreKit to verify the purchase status on the device. We do not receive your payment-card details. Apple may provide the developer with sales, financial, or diagnostic reports under its own terms and your Apple settings; SpaceShrink does not add its own analytics or purchase-tracking server. Purchasing is optional; scanning, export, history, and review remain available without it.

Your choices and retention

You can change Photos access in iOS Settings, including granting access only to selected photos. You choose which items to export, compress, or delete. Removing SpaceShrink removes its app-container records from the device, but does not remove Photos copies, exported files, backups, or the Keychain allowance record. Manage those in Photos, the export destination, or your Apple settings. Restore purchases uses your Apple Account. We do not hold a server-side library to erase. Contact us with privacy questions; avoid sending private media unless necessary for your request.

Support messages

If you email charlesve@pm.me, Charles Vevea receives the information you choose to send, including your address and message. We use it to respond and resolve your request, retain it only as reasonably needed for support and applicable obligations, and do not use it for advertising. The email service processes correspondence under its own terms. You may request deletion of support correspondence, subject to legal retention obligations.

Security and changes

SpaceShrink uses iOS application protections and encrypted Keychain storage for the allowance. Temporary compression files and progress records are accessible to the app after the first device unlock so supported background work can continue. Exported files are no longer protected by the Photos Hidden album lock. No security method is perfect. We will update this policy when practices change and publish the revised date with the policy in the app and on its support site.
